Биография

Spanish group VINTAGE was formed in 1992 in Reus, following the disbandment of rock act SKLAT where J. Carles Fernández (keyboards), Esteve Rodríguez (vocals), Óscar Gómez (bass), Eduard Bernat (guitar) and Abel Benito (drums, percussion) all had been members. 1993 saw the band's debut as a concert act, performing new compositions as well as some songs developed by the members while still a part of former band SKLAT. 1994 saw the release of the demo "Abisme", containing compositions influenced by symphonic rock to a greater extent than the more mainstream oriented material previously made by the band. Some time after the release of the demo tape VINTAGE dissolved, but got together again in 1996; and after taking the moniker TEMPUS FUGIT for a while, they went back to the original name VINTAGE in 2000. 2003 saw the release of debut album "Tempesta" on Vale Music, a release well recieved critically as well as commercially. Some time after this release the band went through some line-up changes, with guitarist Eduard Bernat and drummer Abel Benito leaving the band. Bernat has not been replaced, while Víctor Fernández García came in as the new drummer. The band started working on the follow up album sometime in 2005, but so far nothing has surfaced. None of the various webpages for the band has been updated since the spring of 2007, and the current status of this outfit is unknown. WHY IS THIS BAND LISTED AT PROGARCHIVES: Spanish act VINTAGE created symphonic rock with many similarities to Camel on their debut album; but the contemporary sound made this band a more fitting candidate for the Neo Progressive team to consider, who approved their addition to the databse.
