Their music has been described as emulative of early David Bowie and Eno-esque atmosphere, while their recent release has digressed and branched out in its own unique direction. "In the musical solar system of Glint's open and glimmering sound, vocals pull elements from Muse and a little bit of Bowie here and there" states The Deli Magazine, in a review of Sound in Silence. In a pre-show interview before iTunes presents: Glint at Apple Soho on Friday, October 17, 2008, Noahm, well known NYC blogger/photographer deamed the band “the missing link between Mogwai and Portishead[…]”. Billboard Magazine hailed their live show as “air tight” and “irresistible.”
Glint was conceived by Jase Blankfort (NYC) and Mateus Tebaldi (Brazil) in New York City, quickly deemed an irresistible live act in the electronic art rock scene by Billboard Magazine. Shortly after the release of Sound in Silence, Jase and Mateus met Alon Leventon (Tel Aviv), filling the role of keyboards and synthesizers, and bassist Dave Johnsen (Brooklyn). The group’s first show took place in Central Park in spring of 2008, followed by an immediate rise to New York’s prominent stages, and more recently, international demand.
2011
Following the GLINT - EP (2010) NYC based three-piece GLINT teamed up with UK’s legendary producer Steve Osborne (Doves, New Order, U2, Paul Oakenfold) to record the highly anticipated follow up LP.
Jase Blankfort, Glint’s songwriter, spent well over a year articulately crafting a handful of songs in which demos immediately grabbed the attention of 140db Management, Osborne’s prestigious management company, who saw the potential for an ideal band/ producer pairing.
Tentatively slated for a late fall release on New York imprint Rely Records, Glint’s upcoming LP is a synthesis of the group’s massive wall of stadium sound and Osborne’s timeless electro-rock production.
Jase Blankfort (vocals, guitar, machines), Phil Kuperberg (keyboards, samples, synths) and Mateus Tebaldi (drums) make up the newly reconstructed threesome, bringing the band full circle to the original lineup that began to illuminate GLINT some years ago.
Although no official street date set yet, the new full length record will be available in never before seen music/art mediums in late 2011, followed by a busy year of international touring. Ссылка на эту страницу. .
