Suction 8 (86), Sarcastic Fringeheads (90) Very different from the standard UK so-called 'progressive' fare; it's clear that Edge have distanced themselves from the rest of the pack, yet their music is still very accessible. Vocalist Frances Pearless fronts the sound, her voice having many of the same qualities as Tracy Hitchings in her adventures with Quasar, but without being as unyielding to the music; Pealess' voice is more subtle and generally works better in the band context. The flute plays an important lead position in many of the musical passages, conjuring up memories of Focus, Horslips and Tull. The band has no trouble shifting gears, moods and styles, and borrow and refine some of their better ideas from the jazz school. There are few shocks in their music: the signature, tempo and dynamic changes are well thought out and seem to have a purpose in support of the writing and the lyrics. This band has a level of sophistication rarely found in their neo-prog contemporaries. Highly Recommended. Фронт-вокалистка Франциски Перлесс... звук, ее голоса, имеющий многие из тех же самых качеств, что и Трейси Хичингс в ее выступлениях с Quasar, но, не будучи таким насыщенным в музыкальном плане, голос Перлесс более тонкий и вообще слушается лучше в контексте группы. Флейта играет важное ведущее положение во многих из музыкальных пассажах, вызывая в воображении воспоминания о Focus, Horslips и Tull. Группа непринужденно смешивает стили, и заимствует многие лучшие идеи от джазовой школы. В их музыке немного ударных: почерк, темп и динамические изменения хорошо продуманы и, кажется, служат в поддержку лирики.
