Aquarium A recent signing to the Babel Label, Aquarium are: Sam Leak - Piano/Composition James Allsopp - Tenor Saxophone/Bass Clarinet Calum Gourlay - Double Bass Josh Blackmore - Drums and also featured on the album is singer Rhiannon Bradbury Sam Leak (24) is a piano player highly in demand on the London Jazz scene, having performed with musicians including Ray Warleigh, Martin Speake and Stan Sulzmann at venues including Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Dean Street, Kings Place and The Vortex. Calum Gourlay was recently nominated for a Mercury Award, and James Allsopp and Josh Blackmore are both previous BBC Jazz Award winners. Their debut album is tipped for great success following its release in early 2011. The Aquarium album was recorded in December 2009 at Porcupine Studios. It was engineered by Nick Taylor, produced by Richard Fairhurst, and Mixed By Steve Lowe.
